Bodaboda Road Safety Sensitisation

The Department of Youth, Sports ,Gender ,Culture and Social Services in partnership with the County Department of Roads ,NTSA and Stanbic Bank today held a Boda boda road safety sensitization forum at the Shabaab Social Hall in readiness for the NaxFest event which will be held on 31st December at the Nakuru Show Ground.

CECM Eng.Lucy Kariuki informed the riders of the planned event and how beneficial it would be to the economy of the County.

She reiterated the road safety campaign awareness to the operators and requested them to be diligent in their work.

Youth and Sports Chief Officer Dr.William Migwe thanked the Bodaboda operators for their cooperation which he noted has contributed to the growth of the sector.

He informed the youth of the driving school bursary programme and urged them to liaise with his office for necessary assistance.

Gospel Musician Emmy Kosgei thanked the Boda boda operators for honoring the invite and also invited them to the NaxFest Pamoja Concert .

She talked of the disturbing rape cases of school girls, perpetrated by Boda boda operators. She informed them of the sexual offences act and requested them to have self control over such temptations.
