The County selection for the 6th Kenya Youth Intercounty Sports Association (KYISA)games is ongoing at the Afraha Stadium and Menengai High School in Nakuru town.
Over 400 participants drawn from the 11 sub counties and in the age brackets 18~24 years are participating.
The selected players drawn from three disciplines, Football for men and women ,Volleyball for men and women and Basketball for men ,will represent the County at the Inter counties event set to kick off from Saturday 14th December to 21st December in Busia County.
The event had been rescheduled to pave way for the East African Local Authority Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) that was happening in the same week.
County Minister incharge of Youth and Sports Eng.Lucy Kariuki is optimistic the County will have a podium finish at the events .
Chief Officer Sports and Youth ,Dr.Migwe said the games will help in talent enhancement and exposure to the upcoming sportsmen and women.
Kwale County are the Men and Women football title holders,Makueni County women Volleyball ,Kirinyaga County Men Volleyball and Kisumu County Men Basketball.
The events will be held in 5 venues namely ,Busia Stadium ,St.Mathias Busia Secondary ,Our Lady of Mercy St.Monica Chakol girls ,Lwanya girls and Busia Township Vocational Training Centre .
