Noble Causes – Laikipia Family Welfare

Let’s face it: this year has started in an unpleasant mode for Kenyans. Between the introduction of tax on small scale traders like mama mboga, the high cost of living, countless terrorist attacks, and the death of Anjlee Gadhvi , the need for positivity is at an all time high.

Yet despite all this , the Kenyan spirit of patriotism has inspired hundreds of people to donate their time and money in their local community for social good.

As you consider where to donate in 2020, here are two noble organisations committed to fighting for the dignified causes of social justice, human rights and the well-being of children from vulnerable backgrounds and those in safe houses.

LAIKIPIA FAMILY WELFARE

The Kenyan street children and gender based violence rate has been steadily increasing for more than three decades — especially for lower socioeconomic status groups and neighborhoods.

Despite new calls for child welfare reforms to decrease the street children population, reduce street families, and reform policies targeting offenders of gender-based violence, the Kenyan Children Welfare system remains one of the biggest issues in today’s fight for Children’s social welfare.

The Laikipia Family Welfare is a registered charity advocating to reduce children suffering in Laikipia County and other neighboring counties. It has been on the forefront of this fight since the year 2016.

The nonprofit promotes projects like the Charitable Hearts Project and holds major events in various places after every 3 months.  Currently, the Charitable Hearts Project is focused on trying to overturn vulnerable children suffering from hunger, which can lead them into committing acts of crime.
