Armed bandits from Kapedo area have killed three people injuring one in Kapau, Tirioko ward in Tiaty Subcounty last evening.
The three dead include two women and one girl who were from a cultural ceremony before being ambushed by the armed bandits who shot them killing the three on the spot and injuring one who escaped death narrowly.
One of the injured who was shot in the left side of the abdomen,is currently receiving medical attention at Baringo Referral Hospital Kabarnet.
Mercy Wawira a Clinical Officer at the facility, said that the patient has been stabilised and she is set to be taken to the theater to ascertain the extend of the gun shot wound.
According to Tirioko ward MCA Sam Lokales, while condemning the henious act ,the bandits were five in number who were heavily armed and after shooting the three they dissapeared into the bush.
He wondered why the attackers never stole any livestock even after carrying out the killings which have brought tension in the volatile area which had started experiencing.
The ward representative, pointed an accusing finger at security bosses from the county led by County Commissioner Henry Wafula for failing to provide security in the area.
He called upon Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya to conduct a security operation in Kapedo to flush out those armed criminals who have been causing havoc in the area.
Ribkwo MCA Daniel Tuwit said that the Pokots have chosen to keep peace but it seems their Turkana neighbours are not happy whenever there is sanity and peaceful coexistence in the area.
