    Miriti today reiterated that County leadership is unanimous in its resolve to bargain for the best terms in the forthcoming BBI report.

    Kimathi has maintained that for Meru to realize robust development, BBI must address increment of revenue allocation to Counties.

    Hon. Kimathi further advised parents of the learners whose KCPE results have recently been published to take their post-primary education seriously.

    Quality education and training would help resolve the prevailing youth challenges, and is also part of the 100% transition rate target for basic education by the national government.

    Mitunguu Ward MCA

    Mitunguu Ward MCA had reiterated his sentiments. Hon. Evans Mawira Kaaria who said that higher revenue to Counties would see higher allocation to the Wards and thus further growth at grassroots level entering Mwananchi.

    The two leaders spoke during a Sunday service at Kaguru Catholic Church in South Imenti. Also in attendance was James Kimathi Mugambi who works with the National Treasury.

    A few meters from the church, Meru County Secretary Dr. Rufus Mirit launched a Public-Private Partnership initiative aimed at inspiring young people and cultivating talent.

    This is according to the County Secretary Dr. Rufus Miriti. He added that it is the core objective of Governor Kiraitu Murungi to ensure that youth from across Meru County are assisted and directed in recognizing, cultivating and growing talent in different sporting fields.

    CS Miriti spoke at Kinoru Stadium during the Betika Na Community football tournament which was organized by Betika Betting Company.

    Mr. John Mbatia thanked Governor Kiraitu and his government, represented by Dr. Miriti, Sports Executive Koome Miriti and MCAs Martin Makasi and Elias Murega. They plegded more cooperation in several other fields of community empowerment and development including music and art.

    Mr. Mbatia and his team met earlier and held consultations with Governor Kiraitu in Nairobi on 11 November 2019. The Company agreed to work closely with the County Government to promote and promote sports in Meru.
